Finding ourselves in the future

Summary of the Talk

How are we to act in the face of the existential risks we face? How can we meet the uncertainty and complexity of the future with hope? If we are all to live well and thrive on one planet we must bring about profound changes in our ways of life.

Whilst the need and urgency is rising, and many tools and methods are available, most people and organisations still lack even basic capacities to convene conversations for transformative action. This talk will introduce Three Horizons – a simple yet powerful futures practice that enables us to see patterns of life, our role in sustaining or changing them, and brings people together from a perspective of hope and agency.

Over the last 20 years Three Horizons has established itself as an approach that can be used in any context to mobilise our capacity for ‘future consciousness’: an awareness of the future potential of the present moment and the ability to use that insight to get into practical transformative action.
